Meet Doug Geer
1981
Introducing Doug Geer, a Worcester, Massachusetts native whose musical journey weaves a tale of love, dedication, and resilience.
Starting at the age of 13, he stormed onto the Wormtown punk scene with his band The Performers. The band went on a tear - a steady stream of energetic live gigs, recording sessions, TV appearances, vinyl releases, countless live gigs and extensive college radio airplay, The Performers quickly became fan favorites in the area, drawing comparisons to The Clash and the Jam.
As time went on, life had other plans for Doug. As his family grew, he shifted his focus to raising his children and became the unwavering support system for his wife, Stacy, who bravely battles a debilitating illness. For over a decade, Doug put his musical aspirations on hold, devoting himself wholeheartedly to caring for Stacy and his children.
Last year, (fueled by Stacy's unwavering encouragement) Doug embarked on a journey back to his musical roots. With determination and creativity, he turned his home office into a makeshift studio — writing, producing, and playing every instrument for his solo album. Each note bore the weight of a lifetime of experiences—of love, loss, and triumph.
Now residing in the sunshine of Southwest Florida, Doug's music serves as a profound reminder of the power of perseverance and the resilience of the human spirit. It's a testament to his unwavering commitment to both his family and his art. Join Doug Geer on his inspiring journey, where melodies become a medium for healing, hope, and the celebration of life's extraordinary moments.
